Therapy for teens & college students based in Charlotte and across NC & PsyPact-eligible states.
Everyone has questions about the future, but you're just trying to make it through the week.
Some days the emotional rollercoaster is just plain exhausting. Anxiety starts to take over. You’re frustrated with your parents—especially when their rules feel out of touch. Even though you’re trying your best, it feels like everyone’s expectations are just too much.
-
You’ve got a lot coming at you—grades, friends, expectations, maybe even a job or sports—and it feels like you're always running on empty. You’re often in your head, replaying stuff you said, wondering if you sounded weird, or stressing out that you disappointed someone—even if you didn’t. Some days, you’re shutting down or snapping at everyone for no reason. You just need space to breathe.
-
All of a sudden, you're expected to know exactly what you're doing with your life, but you’re barely keeping just the basic things together as it is. Maybe you're procrastinating like crazy, staying up way too late, or feeling totally unmotivated or unlike yourself. You’re lost, anxious, stuck, and most of the time, you're just pretending to be fine when you’re really not.

You’ve watched your once-driven, connected kid turn distant, anxious, or shut down. You know they’re struggling, but they won’t talk—or they don’t know how to. You just want to help without making things worse.
Therapy is a space where you get to show up exactly as you are, talk about what’s actually going on, and start finding ways to feel a little more grounded and a little more like yourself.
Your whole life is ahead of you. You don’t have to have it all figured out right now.
My approach
Here, you can be honest, find real support, and gain more confidence and control of you.
We’ll start with what you want—what’s actually bothering you, what you’re tired of, and what you’re hoping will feel different. Whether you’re navigating school stress, friendship drama, identity stuff, or just trying not to spiral every five minutes, I’ll meet you where you’re at.
Sessions with me are relaxed and down-to-earth, and we go at your pace. I believe and understand that you are the expert of you. If something isn’t helpful, we pivot. You don’t have to perform or have it all figured out—I’m here to help you sort that out.
When you’re used to preparing for the next test or application, always waiting for a good grade or score, I’ll remind you that small steps still count. Progress isn’t always loud.
Along the way, we’ll focus on stuff that actually works in real life: tools for when your anxiety spikes, your brain won’t shut up, your roommate won’t listen, or you’re up at 2 am wondering if you’ve messed up your entire life. This isn’t about becoming “perfect”—it’s about building confidence and trust in yourself.
In therapy, you can learn how to…
Manage anxiety without getting overwhelmed
Set boundaries with friends, parents, professors, or roommates
Make decisions and feel more confident in them
Handle pressure without burning out
Stop avoiding the hard stuff and take steps that actually help
Build a stronger sense of identity and self-trust
Navigate tough emotions like anger, sadness, or loneliness
Balance independence with still needing support sometimes
It's ok to feel lost sometimes. It doesn't mean you're broken, it just means it's time for support.

That’s actually pretty common. Sometimes teens and college students come in just to “try it out” or because someone else suggested it. Even if you’re unsure, our time together is for you. We can talk about what you’re feeling, what you’re unsure about, and what you might want to get out of therapy—if anything. No pressure, no expectations, just a place to figure things out.

If you’re under 18, there are some situations where I’m required to involve your parents—like if your safety is at risk. But most of what we talk about stays private. I’ll always be upfront with you about those boundaries, and we’ll talk together about what gets shared. My goal is to build trust with you while also navigating any family involvement in a way that feels respectful and collaborative.

Absolutely. College comes with a ton of pressure—classes, relationships, and future plans while figuring out who you are. It’s a lot! Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, motivation, time management, or just feeling lost, we’ll work on building tools and structure that actually help. You don’t have to figure this all out on your own.

That depends on your child’s age, preferences, and what they need. With teens, I often involve parents in some way—especially early on or around behavior patterns, school issues, or communication dynamics. College students typically lead the process themselves. Either way, your support matters, and we’ll talk about how to keep communication open while respecting their privacy and independence.

You might notice changes in their mood, motivation, sleep, or social life—or maybe they’ve told you outright that they’re feeling anxious, stressed, or lost. Sometimes the signs are subtle, like more irritability, withdrawing from family, or feeling overwhelmed by school or future plans. If your gut says something’s off, it’s worth reaching out.
